The most affordable option when it comes to plastic pallets are 48” by 40”. This is only a good option if your product will fit onto a pallet of this size. While custom pallets are available they will cost more and leave you with less choices. When you know the right size pallet it is time to determine which type.

Some standard pallet types include stackable, export, drum, wire, rackable, and nestable pallets. It helps to know a little about each type so you can figure out which ones are best for you. For one way shipments or light warehouse duty consider an export pallet. Stackable plastic pallets fit nicely on top of other full pallets.

Rackable pallets are made to work with open span racking systems. Nestable pallets are a good choice if you have limited storage space as they are designed to nest together when not in use. Large drums are best held in place with drum pallets which have indented rings. Metal pallets come in many different types of metal and can be customized.

Before you make your pallet selection you need to determine the total weight it will be required to move. Another important consideration is if you will be moving them with a pallet jack or forklift and when their main purpose will be. Check to see if you can get a sample pallet before you place an order so you can be sure it meets your needs.
