We’d all but given up on getting a new car in 2009. My firm just told us that there would be no pay increases this year and my wife has just been told that there is no more overtime where she works. So we’d decided to staycation at home this year and postpone the new car until 2010.

That was before I saw the latest car leasing offer from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts. Only £139.95 (plus VAT) for a new model diesel Ford Fiesta. Incredible. We snapped one up straight away, and we’re glad we did cos there aren’t too many available at this price.

Until now I’ve always thought that leasing cars was what businesses did. Nothing could be further from the truth. While car leasing has been used by businesses for many years it is now catching on with individuals who are becoming aware that personal car leasing is a very sensible vehicle financing option.
