You might ask why someone would use two monitors on one pc but there are reasons.  Known as dual pc monitors, these have a number of benefits.  A great reason for using two monitors is for someone in the photography business.  For instance, individuals working on digital photos, trying to view, study, and organize, using dual monitors is a huge help.

With a dual computer screen, you can indeed double work and also desktop space.  One of the most common computer screens is the flat screen.  These are aesthetically pleasing and they are very space sufficient.  Therefore, someone who does not have much desk area would benefit from the LCD monitor.  Now, for people on a budget, a CRT monitor is also a great choice but bigger.

When it comes to using a dual pc monitor, again the greatest benefit is for anyone in photography or an individual who works with graphics and digital images.  Some of the main benefits include:

Looking through a photo library, putting all images on one monitor in thumbnail view and then looking at the photos on a full screen on the second monitor whereby the photo could be focused and manipulated.

Editing pictures is also easier by using dual computer monitors.  For instance, one monitor can be used for browsing pictures on the internet or through some type of photo gallery and then with the second monitor, photos can be edited using a special software program.

Even staying current on email is a benefit of having two screens on one computer.  For home businesses or people in corporate America, getting lots of emails is common.  With two screens, one could display all new emails coming in while the other could be be used for other types of work.

The bottom line is that dual computer monitors have many of purposes for home users or people in the marketplace.  While the computer speed would not increase, productiveness would since the person is able to stay better organized and multi task in a manner like never before.  This trend has become so preferred that it is becoming a normal part of purchasing a computer and screen.

Today, there are a number of computers on the market that are designed to support a dual computer monitor without having to pay additional cash or time in getting the parts set up.  Therefore, if you have a newer pc, you might already have the ability to work on two monitors on one computer.  To check, look at the back portion of the computer where you would see two VGA connectors or DVI connectors, or in some instances, both.

If your pc is not designed with a connector for working on dual computer monitors, then you can visit a local computer or electronics outlet and buy the required hardware.  For this, sometimes the hardware is something you could install yourself but often times a professional’s help is required.
